Bolanachi Building, Southwark

About:

The Bolanachi Building is part of the Bermondsey Spa regeneration masterplan and is one of the early medium-rise, high density schemes designed under the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) and GLA initiatives.

138 homes are provided around either an external entrance atrium or a landscaped podium courtyard over car parking. Commercial space provides an active street frontage to Spa Road. The scheme is clad in green-grey aluminium; when cut away for balconies or the atrium, a timber-clad heart is revealed.

Half the homes are for private sale and the other is shared ownership/affordable housing. Family units are linked to ground or podium level gardens, with flats orientated to take best advantage of views and sunlight.
